Lunaris is a 100 line Williams slot using the Colossal Reels engine also seen in Spartacus Gladiator of Rome. The theme is a bit different – Lunaris refers to a species of moth, the kind that are attracted to bright lights – and in the game, the moths swarm from one set of reels to the other.
The Colossal Reels configuration consists of a normal looking 5 x 4 reels on the left (25 paylines) and extra tall 5 x 12 reels on the right (75 paylines) with some of the symbols stacked. You can choose to play 20, 40, 60, 80 or all 100 lines.
In addition to the usual wild and bonus scatter symbols, there are two moth symbols – Mystery and Reveal. The Mystery symbol only appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 of the main reel set (on the left) and when it does, it spawns Reveal symbols which land on the colossal reel set. All the moth symbols then change to another symbol, which can be anything apart from the bonus symbol, before the paylines are calculated.
The bonus round is triggered (and can be retriggered by getting 3 or more Caterpillar scatters across the two sets of reels (they only appear on reels 1,3, and 5 of each set). The number of free spins awarded ranges from 8 (plus a payout of 2x total bet) for 3 scatters, up to 25 (plus a payout of 25x total bet) for 6 scatters. Lunaris has a bonus guarantee so the bonus round score plus scatter payout will be made up to 10x total bet if it falls short.
